Ashley and Spence Engagement part 1 of 5

Last weekend, we had a terrific time photographing Ashley and Spence for their engagement session. We got up real early and headed to the beach to catch the sunrise. It was about 60 degrees outside, with a stiff breeze that made it feel even colder. They must have thought I was nuts to ask them to roll up their pant legs and step in the water.

They were real troopers, though, and we got some terrific shots. I'll be sharing some of my favorites this week here on my blog.

Nicole's ReUnion Revisited

"The photos and other content of this publication do not constitute or imply any endorsement or recommendation by the Department of Defense."

Wow! Nicole must have a lot of family and friends, or this Blog has a lot of followers. In the day the gallery of her photos being up on my website, there have been a record number of viewings.

Well, since you all have seen these photos, I thought I'd take one of these shots, and do my usual job of trying to show you how these prints might be presented - hung on a wall. Yesterday's blog featured a Triptych of photos from the session. Here's a family portrait, with our hero Jimmy's squadron's welcome flying behind them. This is what an 8x10 print in a traditional 11x14 matted album might look like in Nicole's home. Their boys sure look like they appreciate the return of their dad!

Hint: If you click on the image, it should come up 4x bigger on your screen (from 400x319 to 800x638).

Please drop me a line in the comment section below. If you'd like to see another photo from this session featured in another blog posting, another triptych, or any other way they might be presented, please let me know, and I'll try to accommodate.

Thanks for stopping by!

Nicole's Homecoming

"The photos and other content of this publication do not constitute or imply any endorsement or recommendation by the Department of Defense."

Nicole's husband had to come home early from deployment with Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Three. Three other photographers and I were asked to cover the homecoming of four heroes as part of Operation Love ReUnited.

It was an emotionally packed evening. We showed up about an hour before the scheduled arrival of our heroes, and the air was filled with anticipation. There was no doubt about it - every single family could hardly wait to see their loved ones. For many, this had been the first holiday season part, making it an especially trying deployment cycle.
